MARION, N.C. - Doris Richardson Miller of Marion died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in Sunrise Rehabilitation and Care, Nebo. She was 87.
Mrs. Richardson she was born June 5, 1919, in Dyersburg, Tenn., daughter of the late Charles and Caroline (Robeson) Richardson.
She was retired from the McDowell County School System and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Marion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Miller.
She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Alice Carole and William Hill of Smyrna; a son, Charles Robert Miller of Smyrna; two sisters, Florence Alice James of Farmers Branch, Texas, and Margaret Halverson of McDonald, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday in Westmoreland Chapel, Marion, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Pastor Arthur Gibbs will officiate.
Burial will be in McDowell Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 188 Ward Road, Marion, NC 28752.
