Maxwell Budd, 86 MILFORD - Doris Maxwell Budd, of Wilmington, died Thursday, July 19, 2012. She was a native Delawarean, born in Milford and raised on a farm in Houston, Del. She married her childhood sweetheart, Edward Maxwell and moved to North Wilmington. In 1963, Doris found herself suddenly a young widow raising 5 children alone. She did so courageously and always with dignity. She was a very vibrant, sociable woman who had many friends and interests. She had a passion for her ever expanding garden and would light up a room when she danced. She also enjoyed sewing, painting, golfing and bowling. She loved to cook and holidays and picnics with the family will always hold fond memories for us all. Doris was a member of many clubs and organizations, such as the bridge club with the Green Acres girls, the New Century Club, Jaycee's, PWP, VIA and the garden club just to name a few. Doris was employed by the Bank of Delaware as a Teller in Talleyville for many years until she found love again and married John T. Budd and moved to Millsboro, to enjoy their retirement together. In addition to her husbands, Edward L. Maxwell and John T. Budd, Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey J. and Jessie Cordray Marvel; brothers, Harvey G. and Joseph C. Marvel; son, Edward L. Maxwell, Jr.; and grandson, Christopher P. Masters. She is survived by her children, Steven W. Maxwell, Diane E. Tori and fiancé Thaddeus L. Fisher, Cynthia L. Masters and husband Terry, Beverly A. Miller and husband Brian; grandchildren, Julie Hickman Davis and husband Jimmy, Jillian Tori, Sean Tori, Joshua Masters and wife Jill, Matthew Masters, Jordan Miller, Jessica Miller, Jennifer Miller; and great-grandchildren, Mallory Spurlock, Zoe Davis, Jimi Davis, and Addison Masters. Services were held on July 24, 2012 at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. Burial was in Gracelawn Cemetery.
