Coughlan, 89 DOVER - Doris Lea Ruark Coughlan lovingly known as Aunt Doris, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 at Westminster Village. Aunt Doris was born Dec. 4, 1925 to the late Roy Purnell Ruark and Grace Elliott Driscoll Ruark and grew up in Delmar, Del. In 1948, she married Jack Coolidge Coughlan of Berkley Springs, W.Va. He preceded her in death in 2011 after nearly 64 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Goldey Beacom School of Business in Wilmington Del., and was employed with the DuPont Company as an executive secretary until her retirement. Aunt Doris was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Dover; was a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Foundation (BPW); and was a past member of the Westminster Village chapter of the Red Hat Society. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Ruark Gillespie. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Westminster Village skilled nursing staff, including Patience and Terry. We would also like to thank the friends who visited during her extended illness. Her Celebration of Life service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 at The Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 S. State Street, Dover. Interment will be in Gracelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 S. State Street, Dover, Del. 19901.
