Doris 'Rafaella' Kerlin, 92
DOVER - Doris "Rafaella" Kerlin, of Dover, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, in Dover. She was 92.
Born in Hoboken, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Vincenza Protomastro.
Mrs. Kerlin had lived in Teaneck, N.J., prior to moving to Dover in 1963.
She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Church, where she served as a member of the Prayer Group.
Mrs. Kerlin and her late husband had enjoyed travel, camping and fishing.
She was a meticulous gardener and took pride in the appearance of her home.
Throughout the years she was a dedicated wife, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kerlin, in 2000.
She is survived by two sisters, Isabelle Sheehan and Ann Crimmins; two nieces, Maureen Slezak and Isabelle Toto, all of Dover; one nephew, Patrick Sheehan of Florida; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Church, South State Street, Dover.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
In appreciation for the care given the family suggests donations in her memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
