CAMDEN - Doris A. Hanstein passed away on June 27, 2023. Born in Owosso, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Geraldine (Linzey) Getchel.
Mrs. Hanstein was a homemaker. She was a member of Bible Fellowship Church, where she would often keep the attendance and play the piano. She enjoyed sewing and loved to watch game shows on television, especially Jeopardy. What gave her the most joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hanstein is survived by her husband of 49 years, George Hanstein, Jr.; three children, Kathy Irwin of Boyne City, MI, Jackie Adkins of Ohio and Charles Cuny of Denton, MD; stepson, George Hanstein III of Hernano, FL; her sister, Linda Getchel of Dundee, MI; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Lin Thompson; and by her siblings, Lillian, Ralph, Earl, George, Nancy and Jack.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Committal service will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012.
