Dora Louise Spella, 71

CHESWOLD - Dora Louise Spella of Cheswold died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 71.

She was born on Oct. 8, 1935, in Oklahoma, daughter of the late Amos and Aves (Howard) Payne.

Mrs. Spella was a homemaker.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, crocheting and loved animals, especially her pets.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spella is preceded in death by a daughter, Doreen Seamon; brothers, Larry, Gordy, Amos Eugene and Robert; sisters, Stella, Mary Anne, Rose and Brenda.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Paul J. Spella; seven children, Fred Ayoub of Cheswold, John Amos Ayoub of Dagsboro, Mary Rose Harris of Sumter, S.C., Paula Lowman of Woodside, Ruby Ann Murphy of Hartly, Carleen Lee Curlett of Arizona and Charleen Marie Reynolds of Cheswold; five brothers, Jimmy Payne of Georgia, Gary, Floyd, Lloyd and Carl, all of Texas; and eight sisters, Clara Head of Georgia, Alice of Arizona, Ruth of California and Shirley, Carlene, Rosie, Linda and Pearl, all of Texas; a stepmother, Lena Sanchez of Texas; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Monday in the Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
