DENTON, Md. - Dolly M. Moore of Denton died at her home Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, after a long illness. She was 89.

Born near Westminster, Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Oscar Napoleon Taylor and Viola Taylor.

She graduated from the Westminster High School and also Western Maryland College where she starred as a tennis player.

Mrs. Moore married her husband, Charles V. Moore of Denton, in 1941.

During the World War II years, she lived in Baltimore and worked at the Savings Bank of Baltimore.

While there, she took part in the theatrical performances at the Vagabond Theater.

Mrs. Moore moved to Denton in 1946 and has lived there ever since.

She was a member of the St. Luke"s United Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7937 Auxiliary, the American Legion Caroline Post 29 Auxiliary, the Denton Women"s Club, and was a charter member of the Caroline Country Club.

Mrs. Moore was a fervent fan of TV baseball, basketball, golf, and tennis.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow P. Taylor and Larrin Nelson Taylor; and three sisters, Lorlynne E. Coffman, Lucinda Taylor and Ruby A. Taylor.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Moore is survived by one daughter, Victoria A. Moore of Charlottesville, Va.; one son, Randolph P. Moore and his wife, Cathie of Denton; four grandsons, Noel C. W. Munson and his wife, Anne of Staunton, Va., R. Taylor Moore, Charles A. Moore, and Joseph K. Moore, all of Denton; and one great-granddaughter, Katherine L. Munson.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St. in Denton, where friends may call one hour before the service.

The interment will be in the Denton cemetery.
