Deloise Ann Reed, 60

ELLENDALE - Deloise Ann Reed, of Ellendale, departed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008. She was 60.

Deloise was born June 11, 1947, in Accomac, Va., to the late Robert Bagwell and Delphine Reid.

She was affectionately known as "Ann," "Miss Reed," "Louise Ann" and "Grandma" to her family and friends .

Deloise attended the Accomack County public schools in Virginia and Jason High School in Georgetown, where she received her diploma.

She moved to Delaware in the early 1950s with her aunt, Sadie Hall.

Deloise worked at the Milford Day Care Center and Milford Memorial Hospital for 10 years.

When her aunt and uncle took ill, she retired to take care of their needs.

Deloise was known for her smile and enjoying music.

Some of her hobbies included crafts, sewing, cooking and enjoying life.

Deloise confessed her salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ at St. John's Fire Baptist Church, Milford. She also attended church at Friendship United Methodist Church, Millsboro.

Loved ones preceding Deloise in death included her father, Robert Bagwell; her mother, Delphine Butt-Reid; her guardians, Sadie Hall and Willie Williams; and two brothers, Robert Reid and Leon Reid.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories four daughters, Gail Reed-Harmon and Jona Rickards, both of Millsboro, Tanja Parker of Lewes and Renea Bowe of Ellendale; one son, Keith Reed of Georgetown; five sisters, Lena Boyd, Teresa Collick, Pauline Berlus, Adaline Diaz and Dorothy Ann Collins; two brothers, Ralph Reid and Randolph Reid; four sons-in-law; a daughter-in-law; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 274 N. Rehoboth Blvd., Milford.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Ellendale, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Milford Community Cemetery.
