Della M. Sapp (nee McCrystal)

MILFORD - Della M. Sapp (nee McCrystal), age 96, passed away on Oct. 14, 2009, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mrs. Sapp, daughter of the late Joseph F. and Cora McCrystal was born on a farm near Cheswold in 1912 and has lived in the Dover area all of her life. She worked for 18 years at Fisherman's and 5 years at McCrory's. Mrs. Sapp retired after 15 years as a nurse's aide from the Palmer nursing home in Dover. Mrs. Sapp was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Sapp; a brother and sister-in-law, James G. and Esther C. McCrystal; a brother, Vernon L. McCrystal; and a sister, Neva McCrystal (a victim of the 1918 flu epidemic). She is survived by a nephew and his wife, James J. and Pamela L. McCrystal of Camden. Mrs. Sapp was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Services will be 1 p.m., Oct. 23, in the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery, Cheswold. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Delaware are requested by the family. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
