FELTON - David M. Ford, of Felton, died suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 69.
Mr. Ford was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Middlebury, Conn.
As an academic graduate from Connecticut, he was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Following his military career, Mr. Ford's employment included a history of aircraft organizations such as Command Aircraft, Atlantic Aviation, Summit Aviation and Decrane Aircraft in Georgetown, where he retired as a sheet metal specialist and an instructor of aviation at Delaware Technical & Community College.
His hobbies and interests included aircraft technology, avionics and history.
Mr. Ford was a very talented man and enjoyed designing and developing creative devices of interest.
His greatest pride and joy were his two precious granddaughters, Olivia Schachte and Alexa Schachte, both of Camden.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert T. Ford.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eleanor P. Ford of Felton; two children, Mike Ford of Hartly and Wendy Schachte of Camden; his mother, Rita Ford of Connecticut; a brother, Dennis Ford of North Carolina; and two sisters, June Cameron and Mary Donohue, both of Connecticut.
