DOVER - David Lee Wilson Sr., son of the late Linnie Mae Wilson and J.W. Jenkins, was born Aug. 1, 1946, in Wrightsville, Ga., and departed this life in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, on Tuesday April 10, 2007. He was 60.
David received his education in the Washington public school system.
He worked at Eastern States Construction Co. for 25 years as a heavy machine operator.
David joined Victory Crusade Church at an early age.
He had a passion for cars, "Law and Order," "Bonanza" and Lifetime movies. His favorite pasttime was "working."
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Nathaniel Wilson; and an uncle, Hubert Miller.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving and dedicated wife of 40 years, Eddie M. Wilson; seven children, Michael Shorts of Louisville, Ga., and Calvin Tyrone Wilson and his wife Lisa, Shirley J. Benson, Davis Wilson Jr., Tony D. Scott and his wife Talisha, Roshanda Barlow and Davette L. Wilson, all of Dover; one brother, Johnny Wilson and his wife Shirley; one sister, Bessie W. Smith and her husband Benjamin; 24 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers; and a devoted coworker, Patty Falgowski.
Family and friends may call Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m., in Victory Crusade Church, Dover. The funeral will follow immediately. Repast will follow in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
