FEDERALSBURG, Md. - David J. Brummell Sr. of Federalsburg passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, in Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 71.
Mr. Brummell was born Dec. 10, 1934, son of the late Jerome and Alice (Cluff) Brummell.
He was a graduate of Lockerman High School, Denton.
Mr. Brummell served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He was awarded several certificates for his service.
He was employed by many trucking companies, and really enjoyed driving the bus for the Wesleyan Christian School, Denton.
He also enjoyed his hobbies of hunting and fishing.
Mr. Brummell was a member of Blake Blaxtton American Legion Post 77, Easton, and the AARP. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Bolden) Brummell; two sons, David Brummell Jr. and Carlos Brummell; and a brother, James Brummell.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Alice Brummell and Marilyn and Nelson Burbage, all of Bridgeville, Del.; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Maurice and Gee Brummell and Michael and Sharon Brummell, all of Bear, Del.; two adopted sons, Kevin Brummell and Bradford Bolden and his wife, Carolyn, all of Easton; a sister, Margaret A. Stanley of Linkwood; three aunts, Annie Woods of Sadlesburg, Hilda Hammond of Laurel, Del., and Mary Blake of Bridgeville; a daughter-in-law, Terri Brummell of Bridgeville; a sister-in-law, Marie Brummell of Cambridge; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Jeffrey Butler will officiate.
Burial will follow in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.
