FREDERICA - David E. States, Jr. passed away Jun. 14, 2017, at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. He was the son of the late David E. (Sr.) and June L. States.
Mr. States worked for the Delaware Association for the Blind in the maintenance department for many years. In addition he was an active volunteer with the children of DAB where he enjoyed helping with bowling (Wilmington Blind Bowlers), blind dart tournaments, weekend trips and dinners facilitated by DAB program coordinator, Judy Englegau.
David was a member of Faith City Church. He was also a member of the "Old Men's Club" where he earned his nickname "Bear Man". Mr States was an extremely loving and affectionate person, that would do anything for anyone. However, his real pride and joy was his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Susan A. States; daughter, Stephanie (Jon) Zeitler; grandchildren, Kyle, Kaden, and Kelsey Zeitler; sisters, Lois (Eddie) Oneschuk and Lynn (Mark) Freeland; brothers, Douglas A. (Debbie) States and Donald L. States.
Services were private.
Arrangements are by the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home Inc., Harrington. Visit us at www.melvinfuneralhome.com to sign the condolence book.
