FRANKFORD, Del. - Darrell Eddie Brasure, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Lewes, Del. on April 28, 1960 son of Darrell Eddie Brasure, Sr. and Irene (Cathell) Brasure. Darrell was a graduate of Indian River High School Class of 1978 and also graduated from Del Tech Class of 1982 with an Associate Degree in Business Management.
Darrell began his banking career on August 2, 1982 at M&T Bank and was still employed up until his passing. He had a successful career with M&T Bank and was currently serving as the Assistant Vice President of Technology. Darrell loved spending time with family and friends and anyone who knew Darrell, would say that he was a kind gentleman. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, cooking and traveling. Darrell was a collector of shot glasses and loved walking the beach of Sanibel Island in Florida collecting seashells.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Elizabeth Brasure; father, Darrell Eddie Brasure, Sr.; and stepfather, Carl H. Murray.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bette (Brice) Brasure; daughter, Jenna Brasure; granddaughter, Alexis Marie Ash; grandson, Brian Ayres; mother, Irene B. Murray; and brother-in-law, Shane Brice and his wife, Kimberly.
A walk-through viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945. A private graveside service will follow at Carey's Cemetery in Frankford, Del. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing protocols will be observed and masks are required for those in attendance to any aspect of the services.
Due to Darrell's love of animals, the family requests donations be made in Darrell E. Brasure, Jr.'s name to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20090 or by visiting www.aspca.org
