Daniel Robert 'Bob' Hastings, 83
LEWES - Daniel Robert "Bob" Hastings, of Lewes, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 83. He was born in Milton, the son of the late J. Harry and Caddie (Marvel) Hastings. Mr. Hastings was a farmer and was also a brick mason for George Chapel. He was a member of Whites Chapel Church, the United Methodist Men and the Gideon's. Mr. Hastings enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sarah Clifton Hastings; a daughter, Kathleen Panuska; grandchildren, Traci and Bart Goldberg of Millsboro; step-granddaughter, Megan Panuska of Wilmington; two nieces, Betty Chapel of Lewes, Betty Jane Eiseman and her husband Rick of Rehoboth; and two nephews, Jimmy Hastings and his wife Teresa of Lewes and Keith Hastings and his wife Terri of Georgetown. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be in Whites Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958.
