Daisy Mae Hitch

SALISBURY - Daisy Mae Styles Hitch, the daughter of the late Franklin Lowry and Aslean Styles Tolbert, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Anchorage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. Born on January 4, 1942, in Louisville, Ga., her husband was the late James Theodore Hitch Sr. She received her public education in Louisville and devoted most of her life to being a house wife, and taking care of family and neighborhood children while their parents worked. Survivors include a daughter, Trina M. Styles-Parker of Norfolk; two sons, Antonio Styles of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Timothy Styles of Baltimore; two stepdaughters; six stepsons; three sisters, Ruth Butts of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Irene Jones of Chicago and Annie Jean Atkins of Louisville; three brothers, Robert Lowry of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Richard Tolbert of Salisbury and Warner Tolbert Jr. of Waynesboro, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Tolbert and John Styles, and five grandchildren. A funeral service was held Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury. Bishop Jesse E. C. Abbott officiated. Interment followed at Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury.
