Daily State News
DOVER — Staff of the Daily State News, with the help of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, celebrated a ribbon-cutting Thursday at the company's new office in the First Capital Center in Dover.
The new office is a return to the newspaper’s roots in Downtown Dover..As the first daily in the capital of the First State, the State News has been providing community news since 1953.
The State News, when first converted to a daily by Jack Smyth, was originally on North Street.
The move is indicative of the commitment Independent Newsmedia Inc. USA has made to community news and the values and foundation it has developed over 73 years will continue to serve it well with a growing number of subscribers to its website, BaytoBayNews.com.
Prior to the move, the Daily State News was located in the Kent Aeropark in Dover and, prior to that, at Webbs Lane and New Burton Road in Dover.
