DOVER - Conrad K.D. Lewis Jr. of Dover passed away quietly to join his parents on Monday May 14, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover with family surrounding his bedside. He was 83.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1924, in Newark to the late Conrad and Arzie Phillips Lewis Sr.

He was a member of Nur Temple, New Castle where he held the 32nd degree. He was past Master Mason of Hiram Lodge 25 A.F.& A.M Newark. Past Matron of Chapter 10, OES, Newark and past post commander of Allison O"Daniel American Legion Post 10.

He was a graduate of Newark High School where he was affectionately known as "Connie" or "Bud".

He also was a graduate from Ekols College of Mortuary Science where he specialized in restorative art.

He served his country during World War II as a sergeant in the Army.

He was a member of Red Lion Evangelical Free Church.

Conrad attained the rank of Eagle Scout and moving on to organize and serve as Scout master of Troop 56, Newark.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth A. Lewis of Dover; son and his wife, James R. and Donna Lewis of Friendship, N.Y.; daughter and her husband, Judith and Steve Kveppein of Camden; daughter and her husband, Tammy L. and Michael Zurek of Worton, Md.; grandchildren, Christian Lewis and Suzanne Lewis; grandson and his wife, Arthur and Anna Tressler of Smyrna; grandchildren, Tiffani Zurek, Brittany Zurek and Brandy Zurek; sister and her husband, Miriam and Bruce Ayars of Bedford, Texas; brother, John E. Lewis of Dover; brother and his wife, James P. and Ann Lewis of Newark; sister and her husband, Nancy and Lewis Buckingham of Green Castle, Pa.; brother and his wife, Lester and Shawn Lewis of Elkton, Md.; Jeremiah Schroch who was like a grandson to him; and many nieces and nephews.

Remembrance services will be held Saturday at noon in Trader Funeral Home in Dover, where friends may call two hours prior.

Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.

The family request that memorial contributions be given to Boy Scouts of America.
