Connie Mitchell Prettyman, 52

ARNOLD, Md. - Connie Mitchell Prettyman, of Arnold, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, in Mandrin House Hospice of the Chesapeake, Harwood. She was 52.

Born Sept. 29, 1955, in Seaford, Del., she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Francis Mitchell.

After receiving a degree in nursing from Macqueen Gibbs Willis School of Nursing at Memorial Hospital at Easton, she began a lifelong career in nursing.

Mrs. Pettyman worked as a utilization review nurse for Columbia Medical Plan, a claims adjuster for Nationwide Insurance and lastly a utilization review nurse for Potomac Physicians.

After residing in Seaford for 26 years, she moved to Arnold in 1985.

Mrs. Prettyman was a member of the Elvaton Baptist Church in Millersville, where she was a member of the choir and a children's Sunday school teacher.

She sang in school choirs and once sang in a Billy Graham Crusade.

In her spare time she enjoyed collecting antiques and attending craft shows.

Mrs. Prettyman was a dedicated Christian who balanced work and family life.

She is survived by her husband, Steven G. Prettyman, whom she married July 30, 1983; and three children, Travis, Caressa, and Levi Prettyman, all of Arnold.

A memorial service to honor her life will be 3 p.m. March 8 in First Baptist Church, 115 Idlewild Ave., Easton.

Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton.
