Cleveland W. "Specks" Short, 88
BRIDGEVILLE - Cleveland W. "Specks" Short of Bridgeville died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 88.
Mr. Short was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Bridgeville, son of the late Harvey and Delema (Conaway) Short.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He retired as a dispatcher for the former Lester C. Newton Trucking Co. after 45 years service.
Mr. Short enjoyed traveling and all sports, especially NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Blanchard; a grandson, Kevin; and two great-grandchildren, Moriah & Noel.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice E. (Willey) Short; a son and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Barbara Short of Bridgeville; a daughter and a son-in-law, Sharon L. and Richard Beauchamp of Bridgeville; two sisters, Jeanette Smith and Mildred Pusey, both of Bridgeville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bridgeville Cemetery. The Rev. Dale Brown will officiate.
