Clara Catherine Short

SEAFORD - Clara Catherine Short "Claire", passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 in Charlottesville, Va. Claire was born on Mar. 26, 1934 in Scranton, Pa. to the late Gustave Acconciamessa and Helen Thees. Claire was a devoted wife and caring mother and her family was always certain of her deep love for them. She was cherished by all and known for her kindness and generosity. Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Short, Sr.; and her youngest son, Keith Martin Short. She is survived by four children, Donna Marie Cook, Reverend Dr. Marvin Lee Short, Jr., John William Short, Sr., and Lawrence Thomas Short; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-granchildren. A public viewing will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market Street, Georgetown. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Short Funeral Services, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Internment will be at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. Memorial gifts may be made to Lee Short Ministries, Inc., P.O. Box 3069, Humble, TX 77357.
