Charles Allen Hall "Charlie" passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on May 19, 2022.
Charlie was born in Wilmington, Del. He worked at Gander Hill for many years before leaving for VPI where he met his wife and they worked together in Delaware City for many years. Charlie settled at Walmart Distribution Center where he was relieved and went on disability after 14 years of service. Charlie was a member of Volunteer Hose Co. of Middletown for 7 years and Townsend Fire Company for 3 years.
He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He would do anything for his grandson. Many who met him were intimidated by his size but later found him to be a big teddy bear. He had many friends and plenty of great stories. He will be forever loved and missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Alexander Hall, Sr.; stepfather, Harold Bailey; his older brother, Grover Alexander Hall, Jr.; and baby sister, Beverly Jean; his grandparents, Mary and George VanHorn, and Katie and Edward Hall; and his grandmother in-law, Margaret DeHorty.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Wanda; his daughters, Ashley Hurley (Justin) and Jayla Hall; grandson, Austin Hurley; his mother, Mary Louise Bailey; his sister, Karen Bukowski; brother, Andy Hall (Barbaranne); mother-in-law, Barbara Bailey; and sister-in-law, Brenda Miner (James).
A Celebration of Charlie's Life will be held privately.
