Mrs. Scott was born January 12, 1948, at Milford Memorial Hospital, the daughter of Raymond L. and Elizabeth A. (Craig) Walls. She was a graduate of Milton High School, class of 1966. Following graduation, Mrs. Scott began employment as a secretary/bookkeeper at Milton Manufacturing, until it's closing almost 20 years later; and worked in the cash room of Rose's Department Store in Milford from its opening in 1985 to its closing in the mid-1990s. She was most recently employed as a cafeteria worker at H.O. Brittingham Elementary School in Milton, her most rewarding employment, before retiring a few years ago. Mrs. Scott was a woman of devotion and will be long be remembered for her gentle, loving spirit. She served Christ faithfully, throughout her life, teaching Sunday School for many years at the Midway Assembly of God in Lewes, and later as an active member of Grace Church in Milton. Mrs. Scott was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 8, in Georgetown for over four decades. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte W. West. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James D. Scott; a son, the Rev. James D. Scott, Jr.; a daughter and son in law, Janet L. and Frank R. Clement; a grandson, Derek S. Clement; a brother, Joseph C. Walls of Mobile, Ala.; and additional beloved family and friends to numerous to mention. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 609 East Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Special Olympics Delaware, 619 South College Ave., Newark, DE 19716.
