Catherine Hudson Magee, 79

DAGSBORO - Catherine Hudson Magee, widow of Eddie J. Magee, a longtime resident of Frankford, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her home at Point Farm, Dagsboro. She was 79.

Catherine suffered a stroke in 2005 and had been in poor health since.

She was cared for in her home by her granddaughter, Dusty Thompson; daughter, Edwina Magee; and loving friend, Christine Drayton.

Catherine was born in Millsboro to Henry and Della (Mumford) Hudson.

She tended chickens for many years.

Her favorite hobbies were flounder fishing, playing cards and arguing.

Later in life, she loved watching John Wayne movies.

She is survived by a son, Erick Magee of Frankford; two daughters, Edwina Magee of Newark, Md., and Regina Scott of Millsboro; stepson, Donnie Magee of Dagsboro; a sister, Henrietta Sexton of Dagsboro; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services will be private.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to nurse Mary Anne and CNA Yolanda from Compassionate Care Hospice.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Catherine's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 31038 Country Garden Blvd., Suite D2, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
