DOVER - Catherine A. Voshell of Dover, Del., formerly of Smyrna, Del., passed away at Brookdale Assisted Living in Dover on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
Mrs. Voshell was born January 18, 1935 in Milford, Del., the daughter of the late Joshua Clendaniel, Sr. and Sallie (Dawson) Clendaniel.
Mrs. Voshell worked for the Smyrna School District and the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill.
Catherine enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She loved to crotchet and make her own clothes. She was proud of her flower garden especially fond of her red roses. Most of all Catherine enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Norman Voshell; and her brothers, Joshua Clendaniel, Jr., Avery Clendaniel, James Clendaniel, and Robert Clendaniel.
She is survived by her son, Alan W. Voshell, Sr. and his wife, Linda of Dover; her daughter, Kathleen S. Moore and her husband, Michael of Little Creek, Del.; four grandchildren, Alan, Jr. and his wife, Brynn, Steven and his wife, Christine, Catherine, and Michael, Jr.; and seven great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Taylor, Hailie, Alexander, Cheyanne, Chloe, and Amber. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Clendaniel; five sisters, Eloise Hall (Donald), Edna Chipman, Jean McMasters (Darrell), Ruth Heinen, and Laura Welch (Ted); her sisters-in-law, Kathy Clendaniel and Leona Clendaniel; her best friend, Michelle Shane; and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon. For those who cannot attend, the services will be streamed on the Faries Funeral Directors and Facebook page.
Burial will be held in Ellendale Cemetery in Ellendale, Del.
