Cassandra 'Candy' D'Aiello, 59

TOWNSEND - Cassandra "Candy" D'Aiello of Townsend died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 59.

She was originally from Plymouth, N.C.

Mrs. D'Aiello was a well-known horsewoman in Delaware. She trained and raced horses at Harrington Raceway, Dover Downs and Delaware Park. At the time of her death, she was the track marshal at Harrah's Chester Racetrack, Chester, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; her mother, Iris; four sisters, Pepper, Shelly, Tammy and Betsy; two brothers, David and Neil; four children, Alison, Diane, Frank and Collins; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be private.
