Carrie E. Sharp Jones, 95 GEORGETOWN - Carrie Jones, age 95, of Georgetown, passed away, Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, in Harbor Health, Lewes. She was the daughter of the late Asa J. Sharp and Addie Burton Donovan Sharp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers (all of whom died as infants); her husband John Elwood Jones; her brother Clarence E. Sharp; and sister, Mildred Postles. She is survived by her sister, Ida Mae Friedel of Seaford; four nieces, Shirley Rogers of Milford, Diane Booth, and Carolyn Merryman of Millsboro, Betty Prettyman of Rehoboth Beach, and Marlene Wilson of Lewes; one nephew, The Rev. Dewey Friedel of New Jersey; six grandnephews, five grandnieces and 17 great-great-nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment immediately follows in Union Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested contributions be made to "The Sandhill Church Fund, c/o Grace U.M. Church, 7 S. King St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
