Carole E. Gruwell

DOVER - Carole E. Gruwell passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 15, 1953 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late Alfred Stump and Betty (Cain) Stump.
Carole was a member of the Rebekah Assembly of Delaware of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for several years. She liked listening to music and camping. Carole was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Stump; her brother, Donald Stump; and her loving companion, John L. Halfen, Jr.
She was survived by her mother, Betty L. Stump, who just passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018.
She is survived by her brothers, Dennis Stump of Dover and Robert Stump (Bobbie) of Glasgow; her sisters, Susan Hand (Roy) of Dover and Betty Lou Evans of Smyrna; her sister-in-law, Linda Stump of Dover; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna.
Memorial services will begin at 11 am in conjunction with funeral services for her mother, Betty L. Stump.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
