Greenwood - Jean "Jeannie" Poore slipped peacefully into eternity on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, from her home, surrounded by her loving family. Jeanie was born and raised in Delaware by her parents Rev. Samuel M Martz, Sr. and Catherine.
Jeanie did hair for 40 years and loved her customers as though they were family. For the past 17 years, she was the owner and operator of Shear Perfection Salon of Harrington. Jeannie absolutely loved doing hair, loved meeting new people and enjoyed the challenge of new hair styles.
Jeannie had many interests when not hard at work in the salon. She enjoyed horseback riding, motorcycle riding, gardening, crabbing, boating, and camping. She had an immense love for animals especially horses and dogs. She was a loving mother and wife to her family, took great care of them, and was truly one of a kind. Every morning after waking up, she made sure everyone's needs were met before leaving for the day. Jeannie served as a great example of sacrificial love and devotion to her family. Her love and presence will forever be felt and greatly missed.
Jeanie was proceeded in death by her father, both maternal and paternal grandparents, her father-in-law and a brother-in-law.
Jeannie married and is survived by her one true love of 39 years, Anthony Bruce Poore, Sr.; along with two sons, Anthony Bruce Poore, Jr. (Michelle) and Jeromy Michael Poore (Lisa); six grandchildren, Tyler, Shelby, Jeromy, Madison, Zoe, and Ethan; mother and stepfather, Catherine and Joe Benard; mother-in-law, Lois Poore; siblings, Samuel Martz, Jr. (Karen), Cathy Parsons (Ray), Woody Brown (Becky), Rhonda Everett, Joey Benard (Faye), John Poore (Tina), Donna Poore (Bill), Kathleen Spence (Charles). She is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews, and her ever faithful canines, Hooch and Maggie and a grand puppy Ginger (Ninny).
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at the church she attended, Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Rd., Georgetown, on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at 11 a.m., with a visitation for family and friends starting one hour prior.
