CAMDEN - Byron H. "Hank" Baker passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover, Del. Hank was born Mar 23, 1934 in Norfolk, Neb., son of the late Frederick Baker and Doris Carlson.
He enlisted in the U.S Air Force proudly serving 23 years and retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. Hanks passion and the subject of many war stories are the planes in which he proudly served as a Flight Engineer the C-5, C-133, Connie, and B-47 as Crew Chief. He later worked for Warren Industries and Rockford products. His hobbies included boating and his precious Viking Yacht. He was known by all for his ability to fix anything boat and car related. He was instrumental in the acquisition of the C-133 for inclusion in the Dover AFB Museum and devoted many hours with the restoration team restoring it to perfection. He was a member of the Masonic Union Lodge #7, Wyoming Methodist Church, Easter Seals Cruises for Kids, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and was a Shriner. Hank was always a leader, very driven to make things happen and passionate about his family. Hank and Dotty traveled extensively around the world and didn't hesitate to jump in the car to visit friends and family or just go on an adventure.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Baker (Ahmer); and his daughters, Lori Lynn Forsberg (Brad) and Katherine Baker King (Dave); four grandchildren, Jeff Walvick (Claire), Christopher King (Amanda), Andrew King and Shelby Baker; and great grandchildren, Sam, Lily and Asher.
