PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Bruce Schepens passed away after a brief illness on March 3, 2018.
The son of Salvador and Constance Schepens, Bruce was born in Dover. After graduating from Caesar Rodney High School (1975), Bruce completed a BS in Mining Engineering at Virginia Tech University in three years and later earned his Professional Engineering License. He received awards for safe projects completed on budget and schedule. Following an early retirement, Bruce settled in Las Vegas where he owned several small businesses. He volunteered for Big Brothers and Sisters of America. In more recent years Bruce left Nevada and moved to Punta Gorda, Fla.
