Bruce K. Robinson

DOVER - Bruce K. Robinson, Sr. passed away after a long illness, surrounded by his family and friends, Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mr. Robinson was born April 4, 1948 in Lewes, Del. to the late E. Paul Robinson, Sr. and I. Louise Kemper Robinson. He started working for his father at a young age in the auto industry in Wilmington, at Paul Robinson and Sons and then Robinson Automotive in Dover. Mr. Robinson had also worked for Schaffer Lincoln Mercury in Dover, Boulevard Ford in Georgetown and then Hertrick Capitol as parts and service director. He was a member of the FOP Lodge #3 in Kitts Hummock and the New Harvest Baptist Church in Dover. Mr. Robinson was an avid, lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and also a shareholder. He enjoyed horseshoes, fishing, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister in law Sandy Robinson. Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen Smith Robinson of Dover; sons, Bruce K. Robinson, Jr. and his wife Betty of Dover, Christopher Robinson and his fiancé Jennifer of Dover; daughter, Lisa Clarke and her husband Dan of Camden; grandchildren, Justice Downer - Clarke, Samantha and Alexandria Robinson, Stephen and Nathan Williams; sister, Margaret Williams and her husband Robert of Dover; brothers, E. Paul Robinson, Jr. and wife Charlene of Wilmington, Donald Robinson and his friend Carol of Wilmington, Kevin Robinson of Wilmington, Wayne Robinson and his wife Lynn of Hockessin, Jay Robinson of Newark; step mother, Patricia T. Robinson of Newark; mother in law, Catherine Stephens of Dover; in laws, Edna Mill and her husband James of Oxford, Pa, Agnes Brown and her husband Mack of Lenoir, N.C., Edward Smith and his wife JoAnne of Minersville, Pa. and Doris Altizer and her husband Chad of Dover, and their family, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Joy Hall of Dover, Chris and Valerie Pryor of Dover, James Briscoe and family of Felton. Funeral services will be held 10AM, Monday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8PM. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Bayhealth Oncology Department, 640 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901 or New Harvest Baptist Church, 866 N DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
