MILFORD - Bonnie D. Russell passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at her home in Milford after a long illness. She was born Aug. 18, 1951 in Salisbury, Md., the daughter of the late Delight D. and Grosvenor R. Russell.
A graduate of Milford High School, Bonnie earned a BA in History and an MBA from the University of Delaware. She worked as an accountant for several employers, including the Delaware Department of Transportation, formerly DAST. She was a longtime member of Reformation Lutheran Church, where she loved singing in the choir, playing handbells and helping the church in many other activities. She served as church treasurer for many years as well as treasurer of Luther Towers of Milton. She loved being a part of the community.
Bonnie had a kind heart for serving others and was a loyal friend. She was known for her lifelong love of cats and for her artistry in making Pysanky eggs, a skill she passed on and shared with others. In recent years, she cherished her time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Kati L. Andresen and son-in-law Jason R. Andresen of Herndon, Va.; and three grandchildren, Mark, Sophie, and Blake.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford, followed by a light lunch reception. A private burial for family will be held in Milford Community Cemetery, Rt. 113, Milford.
