MILFORD - Blanche R. Lewis of Milford, formerly of Slaughter Beach, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 75.

She was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Rec) Kempski.

Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker.

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and the neighbors children.

Mrs. Lewis attended Reformation Lutheran Church, Milford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver B. Lewis in 1999; and a son, Kenneth J. Lewis in 1976.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Jay F. and Betty Lewis of Milford, David B. and Barbara Lewis of Lincoln and Michael P. and Tracey Lewis of Houston; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard Kempski of Middletown, Joseph and Elva Kempski of Wilmington and Jack and Jackie Kempski of New Castle; two sisters, Dolly Brockson, of Middletown and Debbie and Larry Dugger of Ringgold, Ga.; six grandchildren, Kenneth J. Lewis, and his wife, Carla of Lincoln, Christy Sammons and her husband, Garrett of Greenwood, Kelley Lewis, Megan Lewis and Morgan Lewis, all of Milford and Matthew Lewis and his companion, Jessica Thompson of Felton; a great-granddaughter, Alicyn Lewis; a great-grandson, Connor Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
