Blanche Jefferson, 76

FELTON - Blanche Jefferson of Felton died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Crozier Chester (Pa.) Medical Center. She was 76.

Mrs. Jefferson was born in Bridgeville, daughter of the late John Passwaters and Mary E. "Libby" Voshell.

She was a retired school bus driver of over 40 years. She most recently drove for CDK-Mills Bus Service.

Mrs. Jefferson loved her family dearly, and took great pride in raising her 10 children. She loved to spend time with and spoil her many grandchildren.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and sewing crafts. She also enjoyed dancing and spending time with friends. She liked to watch NASCAR races, with Bill Elliott being her favorite driver. She also liked to listen to Mel Tillis and watch "Walker Texas Ranger." She loved to be around horses, and went to many races and helped in the paddock area.

Mrs. Jefferson was a member of the Frederica Senior Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Martin Jefferson; and two sons, John E. Jefferson and Harold Louis Jefferson.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Martin and Jodi Jefferson of Houston and Sidney and Barbara Jefferson of Harrington; six daughters and six sons-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Walters of Delmar, Libby and Charles Walls of Milford, Diane and Ray Walls of Felton, Betty and Ralph Walls of Frederica, Kathy and Franklin Weaver of Viola and Sandra and Gordon Rogers of Felton; two brothers, Charles Passwaters of Newburn, N.C., and Robert Passwaters of Seaford; 31 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Frederica Senior Center, PO Box 165, Frederica, DE 19946; or to the Felton Fire Co., PO Box 946, Felton, DE 19943.
