DOVER - After a prolonged illness, Ann was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sept. 22, 2017. Ann was born on Nov. 13, 1935 in Sylacauga, Ala. and grew up in Panama City, Fla. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and met the love of her life, Don while in Pennsylvania. She was happily married for 49 years and was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and homemaker. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Ann loved her Lord and served in a local Baptist church wherever they were stationed. She also enjoyed antiquing, reading, making her family quilts and most recently bird watching. She kept her sweet spirit and quick sense of humor through her last difficult days.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Lobie and Irene Blackmon; her devoted husband, Smsgt Donald P. Baustert USAF, Ret.; and sister, Betty Sue Madison.
She is survived by her children, Rev. Eddie Blackmon (Vicki), Sue Adams (Rev. Mark), Debbie Kohl (Rev. Gary), Donald Baustert, Jr. and Lew Baustert (Heidi); grandchildren, Maj. Daniel Adams (Ashley), Heather Baustert (Derrick), Kristina Ussery, Sarah Adams Tapanes (Joe), James Baustert, Becca Adams, Jenn Baustert and Marissa Baustert; great-grandchildren, Amoni, Kaitlyn, Lydia, Amyra, Joel, Auburn and Nathan; and her brother, Bill Blackmon.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the compassionate, loving caregivers: Rita, Jewel and Monica for all the love they gave Ann and her family.
Funeral service 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may begin calling starting at 9 a.m. Interment Sharon Hills Memorial Gardens, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to SBC Disaster Relief (https://www.namb.net/dr) or a charity of your choice.
