Beverly Anne Saunders, 56
MILLSBORO - Beverly Anne Saunders of Millsboro, formerly of Cambridge, Md., departed this life Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 56.
She was born Nov. 30, 1950, in Cambridge, daughter of Goldie Hemphill and the late Chauncey Saunders, and was raised by the late Nathaniel and Gertrude Stewart.
Beverly was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County, and was a 1968 graduated of Cambridge High School.
She was employed at M&T Bank, Millsboro, until her health started to fail.
Beverly was a strong woman of the Lord and a member of Bay Shore Community Church, Millsboro.
Her special hobbies were going to church, reading the Bible, playing the piano at Tunnel Cancer Center and doing hair where she graduated from, Delmarva Beauty School, Salisbury, Md.
In addition to her father and parents who reared her, Ms. Saunders was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Clash; and a sister, Belinda Hackett.
Ms. Saunders leaves to mourn her memory her daughters, Shannon Saunders of Baltimore, and Marsha Opher of Hurlock; a grandson, Josiah Opher; her ex-husband, Carl Opher Jr.; three sisters, Vernetta Hackett, Althea Saunders and Gia Saunders; a brother, Chauncey Saunders; three aunts, Dorine Johnson, Roslyn Carnage and Tavolia Carter; an uncle, Henry Carnage; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Henry Funeral Home, 510 Washington St., Cambridge, with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment will follow in Waugh Chapel Cemetery.
