Betty Lou Lare of Linkwood passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born on July 12, 1931 in Preston and was a daughter of the late Charles and Matilda Lubba Kenton.
Mrs. Lare graduated from Preston High School. She worked at Airpax and later worked for several restaurants in the area. Mrs. Lare was first married to the late Emerson Marshall and later to the late Ronald Lare. She enjoyed being with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters Terri Johnson (Bobby) of Cambridge and Sherri Stapleton (Bill) of Princess Anne, a granddaughter Crystal Henningsen (Matt), great grandson Connor Henningsen, a sister Wanda North of Grasonville and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Lare is preceded in death by three sisters Alice Perry, Audrey Willoughby and Irene Chambers, three brothers David Kenton, Charles Kenton and Franklin Kenton.
A graveside memorial service was held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements were in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
