FELTON - Betty Lee Starkey departed this life very unexpectedly on Monday, July 22, 2013. She was born on Nov. 2, 1942 in Milford, daughter of the late Cloid and Myrtle (Todd) Fry, Jr. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a caregiver in every sense of the word. Not only did she care about her family, she cared for the elderly in their homes. She loved to cook. No one would leave her home without a full stomach. She never met a stranger. This world will surely miss this remarkable woman who will always be remembered as a friend to all, but mom-mom Betty to many. Betty also stayed connected with old school mates and on Wednesdays had a monthly breakfast club with old friends and acquaintances. Betty is survived by three daughters, Joy Lynn Bishop and her husband Daniel, of Goldsboro, Md., Donna R. Bishop and her husband Dale, of Felton, Ann M. Breeding and her husband Mark, of Frederica; 10 grandchildren, Danielle Bishop, Ryan Bishop, Cole Bishop, Lisa Bishop, Wade Bishop, Megan Bishop Ervin, Logan Bishop, Alli Bishop, McKenna Breeding and Maura Breeding; and three great-grandchildren, Shilee Rae Ervin, Bentley Bishop and Axil Bishop who all where the apple of her eye. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Harrington Alumni Association Scholarship Fund in memory of Betty, P.O. Box 37, Harrington, DE 19952, Attn: Pat Garry. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
