Betty Ann Saffield

HARTLY - Betty Ann Saffield, 77, of Hartly, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 4, 1936 in Severna Park, Md. to the late John and Florence Gardner Baierlein. Mrs. Saffield was a homemaker. She was a life member of Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed attending the Dover Modern Maturity Center activities. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Saffield; siblings, Thelma Harrell, Florence Ella Mae Cox, Ruth Schultz, John and William Baierlein. She is survived by her children, Betty Gray of Milford, Howard T. Saffield (Sue) of Hartly, Joyce A. Moore of Stevensville, Md. and Brenda L. Bailey (William) of Hartly; three grandchildren, Jessica McCracken, Sabrina Saffield and Sonni (Katie) Vannier. A funeral service for Mrs. Saffield will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at the Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, Md. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Sudlersville Cemetery.
