Bertille (Chappell) Holly, 87
MERCED, Calif. - Bertille (Chappell) Holly of Merced died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, in the Hylond Convalescent Hospital, Merced. She was 87.
Mrs. Holly was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Jersey City, N.J., daughter of the late William and Florence (De Chantell Ryan) Chappell.
She loved painting and playing bridge, and was an avid golfer.
Mrs. Holly"s grandchildren were the light of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Douglas M. Holly, on Nov. 17, 1993.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Douglas M. and Linda Holly Jr. of Atlanta and Nelson C. and Kathleen Holly of Merced; a daughter and a son-in-law, Pamela H. and Thad Fredrickson of Frederica, Del.; five grandchildren, Heather McNally of Elk Grove, Patrick Holly of Reno, Nev., and Brian Fredrickson, Holly Fredrickson and Kevin Fredrickson, all of Frederica; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn McNally of Elk Grove.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Church of the Holy Cross, Dover.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hinds Hospice, PO Box 763, Merced CA 95341; or the Children"s Hospital Foundation, 34th St. and Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104-4399.
