DOVER - Bertha Madaline (Metallic) O'Neil of Dover passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, in her home with her family at her side. She was 68.
Mrs. O'Neil was born Jan. 15, 1938, in Listuguj, in the province of Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Alexander and Madaline (Swasson) Metallic.
She was a North American native woman of Listuguj, and member of the Migmaq First Nation.
Mrs. O'Neil was a homemaker who loved her family, pets and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward O'Neil Jr., in 1987.
She is survived by four daughters, Darlene and David Weesner of Boonsboro, Md., Patty and Bill O'Neil of Dover, Theresa and Thomas "TR" Reeves of Altus, Okla., and Sharon O'Neil and Rick Meeks of Dover; two siblings, Helen Metallic Wysote and Isaac Metallic, both of Listuguj; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 17 nieces; and nine nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Mrs. O'Neil's home, 1128 Garfield Drive, Dover, where friends may call from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
