Bernice L. Ashley, 80 SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Bernice L. Ashley, 80 of Sudlersville, Md., formerly of Millington, died April 15, 2010, in Chester River Hospital. Mrs. Ashley was born on Sept. 14, 1929, in Galena, daughter of the late William and Clara Briscoe Ringgold. She had worked for Playtex Company in Dover, for 18 years. Mrs. Ashley was a member of Wesley Chapel of Love Church in Sassafras and sang in the choir. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and playing bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Clarence Ashley in 2005. Mrs. Ashley is survived by a son, William 'Billy' Benson and his wife Sheila of Millington; a daughter, Pauline Ashley Lewis of Dover; four grandchildren, James Burgess, III, Deynesha Lewis, William Benson, II, and Shawn Benson; and four great-grandchildren, William Benson, III, Alaysha Bailey, Anaya Bailey, and Erin Burgess. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, in Graves Chapel U.A.M.E. Church, Big Stone Rd., Millington, Md., where friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial in Graves Chapel Cemetery.
