Born in Elmer, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (nee Carney) Loatman and the wife of Elmer "Jim" Munson. Mr. and Mrs. Munson were long time residents of Fairfield Twp. Duke was a seamstress and had worked for several area sewing factories, including Major Clothing, Thebers Clothing, and Model Blouse, which she retired from in 1988. After her retirement, she also worked for Fairfield Twp. Board of Education in the school cafeteria. She was a very active member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton , her Indian name was "Floating Butterfly" and she volunteered with the Food Gleaning Program at the center, and would always help out in the kitchen at the Pow Wow. She also made the regalia ribbon shirts worn by many of the dancers at the Pow Wows. She enjoyed bowling, doing ceramics and crocheting, but she especially loved to travel with Jim, her sister, Bootsie, and brother-in-law, Albert from Delaware, and going shopping to the dollar stores with her sister, Tarp. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Besides her mother and father, Beatrice was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Samuel and John Loatman; and four sisters, Marion Loatman, Thelma Mosley, Mary Loatman, and Betty "Bootsie" Durham. Surviving to cherish her memories are her husband, Elmer "Jim" Munson; her two sons, Samuel R. Munson and his wife, Barbara of Hammonton, N.J., and Elmer C. Munson Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Millville, N.J.; two grandchildren, Sherry Caputo and Jennifer Blackwell; five great-grandchildren, Heaven McNamara, Brandon Munson, David Blackwell, Ryan Blackwell, and Alex Blackwell; two sisters, Anna Coker of Dover, and Isabel "Tarp" Durham of Bridgeton, N.J.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, from the Sray-Webster Funeral Home, 62 Landis Ave., at Carll's Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp.
