Barbara S. Merrell

DOVER - Barbara S. Merrell passed away, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at Westminster Village.
Mrs. Merrell was born May 13, 1923 in Bridgeville to the late Melvin Sandidge and Esther Hynson Sandidge.
She worked for Diamond State Telephone as a clerk for over 20 years. Mrs. Merrell loved to build miniature doll houses of which three are displayed at the Biggs Museum in Dover, and made hats and mittens for East Dover Elementary. She was also a member of the Delaware State Miniature Organization and Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey E. Merrell; siblings, Melvin Sandidge and Mary S. Walker.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Grafton H. Heather (Christine) of Key Largo, Fla., Barbara H. Houser (Mitchell) of Fenwick Island, Suzanne Callaghan of Scottsdale, Ariz., Brenda Withers (Andrew) of Semora, N.C. and Karen Trast (David) of Tampa, Fla.
Services will be private.
