GEORGETOWN - Barbara Megee Wells, of Georgetown, formerly of Washington, D.C., died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford.

She was born in Greenwood, to the late Caleb R. and Lydia (Dockety) Megee.

Mrs. Wells was an administrative assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives, working for Congressman Reese of Kansas and Congressman Chenowith of Colorado.

She later worked for the Post Office and Civil Service Committee.

Mrs. Wells enjoyed reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Megee Willey and Margaret Megee Pogue; and one brother, Rodney Megee.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William T. Wells; her niece, Judy Devivo and her husband Joseph Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; great-nephew, Joseph Caleb Devivo and his wife Karen and their children Samatha, Jacob and Josephine of Atlanta, Ga.; and great-nieces, Katherine Elise Devivo and Rebecca Starr Devivo, both of Chicago.

Funeral services will 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 1 p.m.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
