SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Barbara Lois Leager, of Sudlersville, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at her daughter"s home in Barclay. She was 61.
She was born March 27, 1946, in Crumpton, the daughter of the late Thomas Sparks and Edrie "Johnson" Sparks.
Mrs. Leager spent most of her life as a homemaker tending to her family.
Mrs. Leager loved to read and collect angels and cookbooks.
She also enjoyed crocheting and counted cross-stitch.
Most of all she enjoyed being surrounded by her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Sparks and Howard Johnson.
Mrs. Leager is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles N. Leager of Sudlersville; two daughters, Gail L. Pierce and husband Bruce, of Barclay, and Penny A. Steele and husband John of Milford, Del.; one son, Dale L. Leager and wife Kenda, of Centreville; four sisters, Madeline Barcus of Centreville, Flora Patrick of Chestertown, Betty Moore of Crumpton, Ann Manning of Chestertown; one brother, John Sparks of Wilmington; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Sharon Hills Cemetery in Dover, Del.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Galena Lions Club, P.O. Box 141, Galena, MD 21635.
