Minister Barbara J. Salandy, 59
HOUSTON - Minister Barbara J. Salandy, of Houston, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 59.
Minister Salandy was born June 21, 1947, in Bronx, N.Y.
Even as a youth, she always showed compassion, love and understanding to everyone she met and always led her life that way.
In 1971, Minister Salandy married her true love, Hector M. Salandy, and had three children.
As a devoted mother and wife, she made the decision to be a full-time, stay-at-home mother. She later fulfilled her childhood dream of working with children and was employed at a teacher's assistant at the Week Day Nursery School in New Rochelle, N.Y. When she and her family moved to Delaware in 1992, she continued her service of being a dedicated and inspirational role model to children, by working as a paraprofessional for 12 years in the Lake Forest School District.
Mrs. Salandy always dedicated her life to God and her church and was a very active member and Sunday school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector M. Salandy.
She is survived by her three children, Nakia, Andre and Sean, all of Houston; her parents, Esther and Lee Generette Sr.; seven grandchildren, Destiny, Andre Jr., Rashard, Shyron, Sean Jr., Alex and Jayden; a sister, Deborah Goff; and a brother, Lee Generette Jr.
