Barbara E. Gemmill, 75

MILLSBORO - Barbara E. Gemmill of Millsboro passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at her home. She was 75.

Mrs. Gemmill was born April 22, 1932, in Wilmington, daughter to the late Russell and Hildegard (Sehl) Essick.

She was a caring, kind and gentle soul, who was a devoted mother and homemaker.

Mrs. Gemmill loved to go surf fishing with her husband, garden, sewing, gambling at the slot machines, crafts and finding a good bargain.

She also loved her grandchildren and her cat, Crunchie.

Mrs. Gemmill was a member of St. Michael"s Catholic Church, Georgetown.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert L. Gemmill; and her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and sisters.

The family would also like to express their appreciation to the nurses, Dr. Peri and Dr. Strauss at the Tunnell Cancer Center in Lewes.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Michael"s Catholic Church, 202 Edward St., Georgetown.

Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Dagsboro.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
