Barbara Breeding Porter

Barbara Breeding Porter, 74 GREENSBORO, Md. - Barbara Breeding Porter, of Greensboro, died in her home, Monday, Aug. 25, 2008. She was 74. Born in Goldsboro on Sept. 18, 1933, she was the daughter to the late Frank and Sarah Pearson Breeding. Mrs. Porter, a lifetime resident of the area, was 1951 graduate of Greensboro High School. She was a secretary for the North Caroline High School guidance department for 23 years retiring in 1993. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed gardening and being home. Mrs. Porter is survived by her husband of 55 years, Maurice Porter Sr.; three sons, Maurice Porter Jr. and dear friend Donna Stone of Greensboro, Mark Porter and fiancé Carla Castiglia of Salisbury, Matthew Porter and Patti Shaffer of Greensboro; daughter, Marilyn Porter of Greensboro; three sisters, Lillian Bishop of Rehoboth Beach, Del., Mae Bishop of Greensboro, and Ruth Bowers of Smyrna, Del.; four grandchildren, Christopher Porter and wife Holly, Jennifer Porter, Amy E. Stein and husband Duane, Mark Porter Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Mary Porter, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to, Caroline Hospice, P.O.
